Marlin Baker -- Instrumental Music

Marlin Baker is a graduate of Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. His education includes attending and graduating from Interlochen Arts Academy and studying Studio Music and Jazz Studies at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. For seven years he taught music privately for his own business, One On One, before coming to Franklin Road Christian School in March of 2005. He has taught African and Latino Music History for the Sphinx Organization which focuses on the contributions that minorities made to classical music. In addition to being an educator, Marlin is a professional performing artist, composer and arranger of music. He has toured the US, UK, Europe and Central America performing jazz music. He is the founder and leader of Zamar Instruments of Praise. Zamar is a modern jazz band that consist of Christian musicians who believe God created all things including the wonderful genre of jazz and is dedicated to glorify Him through it. Zamar is recognized nationally and internationally as performing and recording artist as Zamar has two compact disk recordings that are in rotation on XM Satellite Radio and other radio stations across the US and abroad.

Jackie Crow -- Math

Jacqueline Crow attended Michigan State University for three years and then transferred to Madonna University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in mathematics. She earned a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology from Wayne State University. She is a state of Michigan certified math teacher. Mrs. Crow taught at Marian High School in Birmingham, Michigan for eleven years. She taught sixteen years at Franklin Road Christian School full-time, substitute taught the 2006-07 year, and this school year she is a part-time teacher, teaching three classes: Calculus, Trigonometry/Pre-Calculus, and Math 6. Mrs. Crow appreciates her job because the Lord comes first at Franklin Road Christian School. She evidences this daily in relating with her wonderful students, their families, and the dedicated school staff.

Phyllis J. Gambino -- Vocal Music

Phyllis Gambino earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. She later received her regular classroom certification from Eastern Michigan University. She has completed 37 hours of graduate work in music and elementary education. She taught first grade and music for the Melvindale Northern Allen Park Schools from 1970 to 1977. She has worked for Franklin Road Christian School teaching music since the school began in fall of 1986. Having been raised in Peru, South America she uses her Spanish language background to teach Spanish to our elementary students.

Linda Gilbert -- History

Linda Gilbert comes to FRCS with 23 years of experience in Christian Education and a passion to teach students the importance of a biblical worldview. She has served as a teacher, principal, guidance counselor, and mentor. Linda has both a B.S. and a M.A. from Eastern Michigan University. She currently teaches MS/HS history. |

Lisa Gillon -- English

Lisa Gillon began teaching at FRCS in the fall of 2006. Mrs. Gillon teaches Middle School English, Middle School Yearbook, and High School Yearbook. Mrs. Gillon has earned a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Science in Education with a Major in Literature, Language, Communication and Theatre Arts and a Minor in Content and Methods. She holds a State of Michigan Professional Education Teaching Certificate and an Educators Certificate through the Association of Christian Schools International.

Susan J. Gronow -- Computer and Business

Mrs. Susan Gronow is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a BS in Secondary Education and has been working at FRCS since her graduation in 2001. She is certified by the state of Michigan in computer science and business education. While in college, she was employed by the City of Mt. Pleasant as the Information Technology Assistant. Mrs. Gronow offers computer support for the staff and lab computers. She also teaches keyboarding and basic literacy for the 4th and 5th grades, as well and middle school and high school computer classes. |

Mike Harris -- Physical Education

Mike Harris is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, holding a BS and Michigan Certification in K-12 Physical Education, and Secondary Health. Prior to joining the FRCS team, Mike taught in the Clarkston Community Schools District. Mike also has extensive experience coaching basketball and baseball at both the elementary and secondary levels. He is a member of the MAHPERD (Michigan Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance) and AAHPERD (American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance). |

Kim Haynes -- Science

Kim Haynes teaches middle school science and high school math classes at FRCS. She earned a post-baccalaureate degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University in 2001 and began teaching at FRCS in 2002. Kim holds a BS in Social Work from Ohio State University (1982), a Masters of Science in Business from Mississippi State University (1984) and a Doctorate in Business from Virginia Commonwealth University (1993). Kim has taught as an adjunct professor for Oakland University and worked as a network administrator for a small consulting firm in Farmington Hills. Dr. Haynes is working on obtaining a Masters in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University. |

Delilah Hutton -- Business

Delilah Hutton is a graduate of Liberty University. She earned her BS in Business Administration and is certified through ACSI. Mrs. Hutton has been working in the educational field since 1981. She came to FRCS in the fall 1999 to teach business and computer classes and in the fall of 2003 became the school counselor. She currently teaches consumer economics. |

Bob Juntunen -- Science

Bob Juntunen earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Wayne State University and a secondary professional teaching certificate from Madonna University. While working in industry, Mr. Juntunen set up and taught the chemistry lab at a Christian school where his wife was teaching. He was responsible for all non-routine chemical analysis, and training of new employees for the various laboratories at National Steel’s Great Lakes Division for over 30 years. He has been at Franklin Road since 2003, and teaches Chemistry, Ecology, Physics, and Astronomy at FRCS. |

Diane LeDesma -- Art

Diane Ledesma is a graduate of Wayne State University with a B.S. in Art Education. She is certified by the State of Michigan to teach Art to K-12th grade and has double minors in English and Social Studies for 7th-12th grade. Diane is also certified to teach in the Elementary classroom. She has taught Art to Pre-schoolers at the Birmingham Community Center. She taught for 7 years at the Fitzgerald School District in the city of Warren. Diane started teaching at Franklin Road Christian in 1987. She currently conducts Art classes for Elementary, Middle School and High School, plus a course in Photography. Since 2000, she has been leading a daily Power of Prayer group that meets with students at lunch time. Diane's passion is Photography. She has personally received many awards for her photographic works that were entered into competitions and published. |

Mary Lupo -- Science and Math

Mrs. Mary Lupo is a graduate of Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science in Math and Biology. In the past, she taught math at St. Florian High School. Prior to joining the FRCS staff in 2006, she was at home with her husband, raising her four children. Mary is an active member of Brightmoor Christian church and enjoys singing in the choir. |

Vincent Montoro -- Bible

Vincent Montoro has earned a BA in Biblical Studies (ministry and theology) from Central Bible College, a MA in Christian Thought (theology and history) from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and a MS in Education (curriculum and instruction) from Concordia University, Wisconsin. He is presently a PhD student in leadership at Andrews University. He has been involved in educational ministry since 1987. He has been ministering at Christian schools since 1993 and has been at FRCS since 1997. Mr. Montoro enjoys running, biking, xc skiing, and other forms of physical fitness. He believes that the main purpose of education is to help conform people into the Image of Christ. He has taught as an adjunct professor at William Tyndale College in its Christian studies and humanities departments and has presented workshops for educators at various teacher conferences throughout Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. |

Faith O’Leary -- Math

Faith O’Leary is a graduate of Taylor University (Upland, Indiana) with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. She received her certification for teaching mathematics. Faith has been teaching at Franklin Road Christian School since 2002. She teaches middle school and high school math. Faith is a co-sponsor for the class of 2009.

Ted Roskens holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Northwestern College and an Masters of Divinity from Alliance Theological Seminary. He has lived in New York, Seattle, Costa Rica and served as a missionary in Bolivia for four years. Ted is a certified Spanish teacher and teaches Spanish to grades 6-12 at FRCS. |

Teresa Swaffield -- English

Teri Swaffield attended Southeastern College of the Assemblies of God in Lakeland, FL for two years before transferring to Saginaw Valley State University. At Saginaw Valley, Teri completed her B.A. in Secondary Education and has also completed eighteen graduate credits towards a Masters in English Education. She is a Michigan certified teacher with a major in English. Teri began teaching in 1986 and came to Franklin Road in 2002. |

Amanda Townsend is a graduate of Madonna University and has been teaching at Franklin Road since 2007. She is certified by the state of Michigan to teach social studies and history for secondary students. She has been working in the education field since 2003. Amanda currently teaches American history, theology, street law, psychology and government. |

Daniel Yost -- Bible

Dan Yost is a graduate of Heritage Baptist University, where he earned a BS degree in Education. Dan has taught since 1979 and served as an administrator of a Christian school in Ohio. He, along with his wife Geri, has taught at Franklin Road Christian School since 1999. They have four children. Two of his children are FRCS graduates and one is currently enrolled in FRCS high school. Dan teaches MS/HS Bible classes and serves as MS chaplain. |
