DISCOVER SCHOLARSHIP
The Discover Scholarship Program (formerly known as the Discover Card Tribute Awards Program) awards up to $300,000 in scholarships annually to high school juniors nationwide to support continued education and training beyond high school. Since 1991, Discover has awarded more than $14 million in scholarships to nearly 6,000 students.
Who is eligible to apply?
Any current high school junior who:
- Has at least a 2.75 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale for 9th and 10th grades
- Demonstrates accomplishments in community service and leadership and has faced a significant roadblock or challenge
How many scholarships are available?
Up to 10 scholarships of $30,000 each
How may scholarships be used?
Scholarships may be used for any type of post-high school education or training, certification, licensing, two- or four-year trade and technical education or a two- or four-year college degree.

2008-2009 SCHOLARSHIP REMINDER
Once again the University of Michigan Club of Greater Detroit is sponsoring unique scholarship awards to nine outstanding freshman applicants to the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor .
By completing the Scholarship Application , students will be considered for the David J. Hallissey Memorial Scholarship Awards, the Frederick C. Matthaei Scholarship Awards, the James H. LoPrete Scholarship Award, the Harold duCharme Scholarship Award, the Elaine and Roger Zatkoff Scholarship awards, and the President's Scholarship.
This is an unusually attractive opportunity for outstanding students to consider; not only for the generous financial aid but because there are "no strings", except that the first-year applicants must enroll at University of Michigan – Ann Arbor and be quality citizen-students.

Eligibility Criteria
ACT: Minimum score of 31, SAT: Minimum score of 2100, or Top 1% of your graduating class (Must meet 1 of the 3 criteria)

EASTERN MICHIGAN ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP
If your student is a child or grandchild of an EMU alumni enrolling as a freshmen for the fall of 2008 they may qualify for the EMU Alumni Scholarship. The scholarship is worth $1000.00 and is renewable for four years; there is certain criteria that must be met. You can contact Mrs. Hutton on go online at www.emich.edu/alumni/awards/scholar.html.
MICHIGAN STATE TROOPERS SCHOLARSHIP
The Michigan State Troopers Assistance Fund (MSTAF) offers an annual $1000. scholarship to graduating seniors in the state of Michigan who will attend college or trade school.
If you are interested, please see Mrs. Hutton in the guidance office for criteria and procedure to apply for this scholarship. Applications must be postmarked on or before March 30, 2008.

The Tuitions.com program is now changed to the Tuition Funding Sources Program. To access go to www.tuitionfundingsources.com and click on "First Time User". You will be guided through the rest of the login.

Not only can you search for scholarships, but you can find information about all two and four year colleges and even take a career aptitude test. This site is provided to FRCS by the Pepsi-Cola Company. Please make use of their generosity!!

UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN-DEARBORN SCHOLARSHIP
U OF M-DEARBORN announces two new scholarships: Academic Achievement Scholarship ($1000.00)--based on ACT scores and student's GPA and the Valedictorian/Salutatorian Scholarship ($2500.00). Both are renewable. There are many other scholarships available through U of M-Dearborn. If Interested, please contact Mrs. Hutton in the guidance office.
