CMU 2008 Summer Programs
This summer Central Michigan University is hosting four special events focused on highlighting CMU opportunities in the arts, health professions, science, and business fields. These programs are being offered to high school juniors; the following programs are available:
College of Communication and Fine Arts Day---July 11
College of Health Professions Day---July 18
College of Science and Technology Day---July 18
College of Business Administration Day---July 25
Participants will have tours, meet professors, explore the college's majors, enjoy a complimentary lunch and attend a Student Services Fair.

MICHIGAN MERIT EXAMINATION--GRADE 11 and 12--LATEST UPDATE 01/21/08!!!
The Michigan Merit Exam (MME) is no longer offered in the fall. The only opportunity to take the MME is in the spring of your Junior year and/or Senior year. If your nonpublic high school will not offer the MME, you may test at an MME Auxiliary Test Center. To register, go to www.michigan.gov/mme, then click on "MME Auxiliary Test Centers" near the bottom of that page.
NOTE: Registration for Spring 2008 MME Auxiliary Test Centers is now closed.
Vouchers are no longer necessary. Since the ACT portion of the Michigan Merit Exam is administered by the high school or at an MME Auxiliary Test Center, there is no need to pay for the ACT portion by acquiring and submitting a voucher.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The test is over THREE consecutive days, either March 11-13 or March 25-27 (your choice).
Remember the MME is a $4000.00 scholarship (paid in installments) to most Michigan Colleges and Universities.

*The September 15, 2007, test date is available in the Midwest in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and West Virginia.

Registration forms can be picked up in Mrs. Hutton's office beginning the week of September 10, 2007 or you may register on-line.

Community Service Opportunity
Several volunteer opportunities are available through the Detroit Historical Museum. Opportunities such as gallery guides, assisting with the collections facility, or assisting with special events in the center such as Noel Night or Festival of the Arts are just a few.
